Lovely up to date rooms and well looked after

Bed was comfy ,shower was hot , breakfast was great 😃

The room did the job, was clean, modern, anticipated size for a single room. Tea facilities great

My check in was embarrassing and demeaning. The owner (Mr) talked to me in a very patronising way, To the point when I mentioned to ANYONE the words verbatim he used with me, they're mouths dropped open! I was chastised like a young school child for having a friend (male) waiting outside who was our (mine and a friend also staying at the Gatsby) ride. We'd had all had a very busy and sweaty day at a dance rehearsal for a big charity event happening in November. I'd mentioned he was waiting as was just going to borrow my shower after I was ready before we headed out for the evening. The way he spoke to me made me feel like I was some sort of lady who charged by the hour! And my request was unheard of. Its a shame I felt this way as everything else about the premises was great, room, complementary breakfast etc. Maybe me catching him off guard if may have caused his tone however it did ruin my feelings about the stay. I read the rules that you have to sign about having no guests.. but I assumed this meant others staying in the room. But it means no visitors at all can come through the front door just so you're aware, if you visit includes meeting friends in the area.
