Iolida Beach Resort Hotel by Smile Hotels

We had a wonderful stay at Iolidas Hotel. Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable, and having our own jacuzzi was a real treat. The pool was another highlight and a lovely place to relax. Breakfast was awesome, with a great variety to choose from every morning. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always happy to help. The location is excellent, with restaurants, shops and the beach at our door step. Great value for money too. We'd gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete!

The location was great. The room had a couch and a rollaway for the kids and a seperate room with a queen bed for us. Bathroom had a walk in shower. I had to ask reception for the safe key. All inclusive package food and alcohol. Pools were great. The one on the beach side always windy. It was on the main street so you could walk to the local shops and restaurants. Easy to get around.

Overall, the hotel is good: the food, location, and cleanliness were all very satisfactory. They allowed us to stay on the last day after check-out without removing our wristbands. I was able to have lunch and dinner and enjoy the hotel until late in the evening, which made a big difference. I thought this was a very strong positive point. However, there are some points that could be improved: 1. The all-inclusive snacks are served in only one location. Considering how large the hotel is, I found it a bit ridiculous that I literally had to cross the bridge just to get some food. 2. The ice cream included in the all-inclusive package is terrible. I honestly found it almost disrespectful to guests. 3. The soft drinks come from a machine. For a 4-star hotel, I expected something better.

Location

Been comimg for years and it's gone down hill bad. Annual tourist are not taken care of any longer and it's only about the Scandinavian people. Closing a pool at 6pm is unbelievable. Food is downgraded. They cut thier veg like 2 days before serving and they are dry. They shut cafe machine off after breakfast which is horrible service. There are many reasons why I won't come back .
