Inishowen Gateway Hotel

Staff was friendly and helpful and rooms clean and comfortable. It was nice to have bar and restaurant onsite to enjoy a late night drink after exploring the country. Our group enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The onsite spa was a great bonus and we enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam room.

Perfect for a quick getaway. Perfect for travelling around donegal.

The hygiene standards need a complete overhaul, the hotel was dirty in various aspects. On arrival the duvet was stained with yellow marks and had multiple black hairs. They were changed promptly but the fleece decorative bedspread remained filthy like it had never been cleaned so I just took it off. The room carpet floor was stained and dusty however the bathroom was very clean. Twice we were served dirty glasses in the bar. The carpet floor of the bar was covered in a large amount of food which remained there the whole evening both nights we were there. The tables and chairs also had crumbs. The floor of the pool changing rooms was very dirty with some rusty fixtures and some crumbling tiles around the pool. The bath towels were tiny and there was a suggestion to reuse them but there was only one hook to hang all the towels so they were still wet the next day. The hotel could do with renovation and an increase in cleaning standards.
