Breakfast was very good and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night.
The hotel is in clear need of refurbishment and refresh. It's clearly an old buiding and that is part of it's charm but compared to other Green King places this was below what we expected. Overall the effect was a bit shabby and we wouldn't want to stay there again. We didn't complain to the staff as we felt that it was a Green King management issue and the staff were doing all they could. It meant that we chose to only sleep and have breakfast rather than linger or eat dinner there.
