Absolutely gorgeous room and friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Lovely grounds and easy walk to the university campus.
Would definitely stay again when in the area :)

Lovely location within easy reach of Wivenhoe and colchester. Our room was in the main house so the room was period therefore furnished with old furniture which is not really to our taste. The bathroom was modern however and spotless. We tried the restaurant for dinner, unfortunately only Sunday roast menu and a few other mains. We both had roast but unfortunately not the best 4/10 and patchy service too. Nobody asked if we liked it but mandatory 12.5% service charge! However the breakfast was very good and lovely service, good selection of hot and cold plus special orders from the menu. Overall a really nice stay but with a few niggles.
