Hotel Le Lumière

I love the location of this hotel in particular - it is so close to great shops (including a supermarket) and a lovely high street, not to mention the metro and buses. The reception staff were also lovely. I asked for a quiet room and they made sure I was put in probably the quietest place in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The 12pm check-out was much apprecited.

A general moan that Lyon is becoming very pricey - this hotel is in the norms for a hotel of its size and location - so it is not that it is expensive, per se. However, I would stay more often, if I could do so within my work budget (which isn't evolving as quickly as Lyon prices!) I often end up having to book elsewhere.

Good location and pleasant staff

Ridiculous that did not clean coffee cups after use and not replenish the coffee capsules.

We were on the back side of the hotel and it was very quiet, like being in the country. The breakfast had a lot of selections and the food was of good quality. Freshly made scrambled eggs. Several nice cheeses as a highlight. The staff is very helpful and super friendly. The location is good, being around the corner from a busy street. On that street's block, there are 3 groceries, 3 bakeries, and many restaurants. It is full of local shoppers and a fun people watching area. On the next block, there is a self-service laundry which we used. We did not use the parking underneath the hotel and instead used street parking. We never had any trouble finding a spot. It cost about the same per day as the hotel anyway, but we could come and go easier from visiting tourist sites. We never ran out of hot water with showers and the bed was comfortable for sleeping. The room was painted nicely and the carpets were clean. There were single women walking around at night and the neighborhood seems safe.

The room was clean, and the staff was friendly.

The room was small, but that really wasn't a big deal.
