Queens Head

The room was nice and warm, with all you'd expect inside the room. The bar area was pleasant with a good selection of drinks available and enough seating. Restaurant area was also nice with a varied menu.

Staff could perhaps do with some more training around general customer service. Breakfast in particular not well managed with tables not being cleared and rubbish not being taken away from shared areas e.g. cereal packaging. There was also two pizza boxes which we assume from the night before just left on the counter. The server hid away in the kitchen so people waited a long time to be served. Not once were we asked if food was OK, or if the stay in general was OK when checking out.

Lovely location, plentiful and tasty breakfast. Evening meals plentiful and good selection. Friendly staff and locals, great crack as us Scots say lol

Bed was soooooo comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Great sausages!

Food and beer were ok. Good breakfast.

Room looked out onto the high street. Very noisily first thing in the morning. Large damp patch on the ceiling and the room smelt of damp and mildew. When we arrived the bar was very busy. The dining room not so busy. There was a sign indicating that check-in was at the bar. We spoke to the chap in the dining room who directed us to the bar. After waiting patiently in the beer queue, the barman said he was very busy and we should check in with the dining room. The chap in the dining room said we should check-in at the bar. I explained that if they didn’t sort themselves out, we would be leaving. Clearly not enough staff on a busy Saturday evening!
