Lovely comfortable room and nice welcome pack for our dog. We attended the onsite ' Astronomy for Beginners' in the hotels dark sky observatory which my husband loved. The staff on reception and bar were really friendly and helpful and the hotel and bar area were spotlessly clean with good facilities.
Not sure if the restaurant was short staffed at breakfast but the service was slow and the staff appeared to be stressed out trying to accommodate customer requests. We didn't feel like we could ask for anything else

Comfortable bed.
Restaurant service. Evening meal only just adequate for the money.

Great breakfast. Lovely garden. Peaceful. Close to nice walks.
Automatic Service charge put on dinner . Not good soundproofing in rooms. We were expecting a ground floor dog friendly room. We were told this before arriving. Lack of communication. We were then given an upstairs room which was noisy as other guests came past frequently and the soundproofing was not good.

"Nice touches such as fresh fruit and shortbread biscuits in the room.
Excellent and attentive staff."
