Quintessential English pub full of locals & with good service.

Raucous clientele having a good night out made getting to sleep early difficult but it all quieted down later on.

Clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff.

Breakfast was too late for our activities, they did help out with cereal and toast.

Perfect location for the event we were going to. Clean and comfortable

When we arrived we were greeted by a bar maid who made us feel very unwelcome and an inconvenience by informing us “don’t ask me anything, I’ve finished and I’ve been here since 11 so you will have to wait for my colleague” and then to stand there and wait for her and her colleague to stop chatting before being able to be checked in. In the evening we came back from the event and was told they had stopped serving and were closing , however were taking orders and pouring pints. If somewhere else to stay in the same location again then would choose that on the basis of the unfriendly ness of the staff .
