Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Carbis Bay is most known for its stunning stretch of pure white sand, which is only a short distance from the renowned St. Ives. With its turquoise seas and sheltered circumstances, the beach has a subtropical atmosphere and is ideal for a traditional day at the beach. If sunbathing is not your thing, the beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, where you can rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and take to the sea instead. Or, why not indulge in a day at the spa at the boutique hotel that overlooks the beach and has a beautiful patio where cocktails may be sipped in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay features a few local stores and restaurants, as well as a fish-and-chip takeout and a railroad spur. The rail ride from Carbis Bay to St. Ives is one of the most picturesque in the nation.
