this 100 year old cabin was lovely! well appointed with all you need. even a working espresso machine. I was slightly worried about no A/C as it's been so hot however it was ver cool and lovely and zero need. the beds are so comfy and the furniture is made to melt into and relax for perfect family gathering. a quick stroll to the lake, Bald eagles, and perfect day of easy access paddle boarding! the neighboring barn is fairly close about maybe a block in city distance if that,but the cabin and its deck faces the other direction and feels like your alone in the woods with a view of the lake. the whiny teenagers loved every minute of the weekend here which was shocking and awesome

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The patio and views were amazing and perfect for allowing the adults to chat while the kids played outside. The house was clean and we appreciated the thoughtfulness that was evident. The little notes and reminders throughout the house were so helpful.

My husband and I brought our dog with us on our second trip to the experience the incredible beauty of Durango while escaping the Arizona heat. We were seeking a property removed from the city and offering incredible views of the forest, wildlife and mountains. While the cabin did offer beautiful views of the lake while sitting on the deck and allowed us to see some of the local wildlife, we were not expecting another property so close to where we were staying and thought more trails would be on the property. However, our biggest disappointment was inside the cabin. The railings on the interior staircase are loose, creating a hazard. Flyswatters were in multiple locations throughout the house, offering a less than desirable effect. This fly issue was particularly evident at the kitchen door area. As a result, we opened this door when absolutely necessary. Although one main goal was to have a forest experience, we did not expect it to include fly infestation. While offered use of the spices in the pantry, all were expired. We both used the downstairs shower since the upstairs was smaller than the photo, but my first use revealed a large clump of hair in the drain. Similar circumstances existed with the dryer vent when I washed towels and found the dryer lint filter completely overflowing. Taken individually, these may seem like minor details but for the price paid and expectations given, unfortunately the conditions at the historic log cabin fell short.
