TOKYO EAST SIDE HOTEL KAIE

We stayed there for 10 nights with kids and we used it as our base to discover Tokyo, Nikko, Kamakura and Mt Fuji. Strongly recommended for families with kids. The rooms are spacious, train station is just across but it's nice and quiet in the rooms so no noise from the trains, plenty of supermarkets nearby and some good restaurants. It has 4 washers/dryers as well which is awesome for long stays and also the breakfast is great with a variety of options.

You have to show a coupon for breakfast every single morning, and for a family of four staying for 10 nights, the lady at reception had to stamp and date 40 coupons. While we appreciate the tedious task and the hard work behind it, there are certainly more efficient ways to do it.

Staff were very helpful and efficient, breakfast was good and varied, location was right on the Shiomi train station but outside the main city center. The rooms were very clean and relatively spacious.

The mattresses that were on the floor were very thin and it was almost like sleeping on the floor itself. Breakfast ended too early.
