Corinthia St George's Bay

Hotel położony w pięknym miejscu. Zarezerwowałam pokój rodzinny z widokiem na morze, ale dostałam 3 pokojowy apartament w widokiem zapierającym dech w piersiach. Obsługa bardzo miła, hotel, choć duży, klimatyczny, wiele tarasów, zieleń, baseny. Jedzenie bardzo dobre, wszystko świetnie zorganizowane. Na powitanie owoce, słodycze i Prosecco. W tym hotelu zdecydowanie można odpocząć.

Jedynym minusem jest trwająca w pobliżu budowa. Hałas i pył mogą być uciążliwe jeśli ma się pokój od strony budowy. Mój pokój był dość daleko, budowa mi nie przeszkadzała.

The hotel has pleasant premises, with attractive gardens and several pools overlooking the small St George’s Bay. However, the “beach” consists mainly of concrete platforms, and the surrounding view is dominated by concrete buildings, so the setting is less appealing than the hotel photos might suggest. My room was very spacious, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Complimentary bottled water was also provided. However, the room felt somewhat outdated, particularly the bathroom and shower, which would definitely benefit from renovation. The biggest issue during my stay was the major construction work taking place on site. The noise continued throughout the day, but also late into the evening and from early in the morning. At times, I had the impression that the construction work simply never stopped. It was extremely disturbing. Fortunately, I was in Malta on a business trip rather than on holiday. Had I been there for a relaxing vacation, I would have changed hotels. The staff at reception were polite and professional, but overall, considering the almost constant construction noise and the dated room, the experience was disappointing.

I understand that the hotel is not responsible for the external construction work, but it is responsible for informing guests about it in advance, so they can make an informed choice about whether to stay.

The hotel has a good location for trips, and there is a bus stop just a short walk away. (line 14 to Valletta) The large number of pools and nearby restaurants is excellent. Breakfast is good, and the Pearl Lounge in the lobby serves great coffee and sweets. The hotel also offers plenty of parking, including underground garages. The greenery around the hotel is well maintained.

We visited this hotel for the 3rd time, but unfortunately it looks a little worse every year. The carpets are dirty, the area around the pool is cleaned less, and the access to the sea – especially the ladders – is not maintained at all. The towels were torn and worn out. There is ongoing construction in the surrounding area, resulting in constant noise and dirt. Right at the hotel entrance, large SUVs wait for guests and block the driveway. In the lobby, there are more staff members, yet they don’t seem to notice guests or offer assistance. The reception is slow, even to borrow an umbrella took time. The hotel has also switched from larger glass water bottles to very small PET plastic bottles. :( Overall, the hotel gives the impression that the quality of services is declining and that basic care for guests and facilities is missing.
