Friendly owners and parking within a few roads. En-suite facility with soaps, breakfast made to order, tea and coffee (proper coffee!)

Unfortunately, one of the worst night sleep I’ve had and anti-social behaviour outside. Unfortunately the B&B faces a busy pub and struggled with sleep - staying for a few days of work events. Friday night calmed down after 11:30pm, but Saturday night was active during the early hours of morning. The town had an event in the day, so cannot comment if this is the case every weekend, but I would be cautious to google events to ensure you don’t book during events, When I mentioned those congregating outside, sat with plastic cups filled with alcohol and smoking certain illegal substances on the door step the owners went down to take a look. Not the most comfortable if you are staying solo. I would suggest any deterrents such as cctv signs, warnings of escalation etcs to try to discourage any anti social behaviour - appreciate the owners cannot do anything on public roads however deterrents could be provided. Small benefits such as later breakfasts and ear plugs would benefit for those not able to sleep until the early hours. More costly improvements could include secondary glazing etc. Another recommendation would to allow early cancellation (with suitable months notice). Sadly one of the worst night sleeps I’ve had after deciding to pay for a more independent than a standard chain hotel. Not what I expected choosing a small village over staying in the city.
