Mercure Paignton Hotel

I loved the Hotel as soon as I saw it and the huge doors opened for us. The Receptionist was polite and helpful. The room was beautiful so big and a gorgeous huge bed that would fit 4 in. The bed was so comfortable slept like babies. The shower was a rain one which was really relaxing also plenty of room to get in and out ideal for my Husband as he has Parkinson's. Lovely fresh towels and face flannels. Loved the liquid soap gorgeous smells. Blackout curtains were perfect so relaxing no sound coming in through the window. We had a Dinner for my Husband's Birthday. We both had Prawn Cocktail it was absolutely massive and so delicious. I had the Sea Bass with crispy potatoes, green beans, crispy Kale very nice. My Husband had Chickpea, Sweet potato and Spinach Curry again delicious. They surprised my Husband with a Happy Birthday board written in Chocolate and two gorgeous melt in your mouth lemon drizzle cakes with candles. He was very touched by it. All the Staff were polite patient and very Friendly. We can't wait to go back next year.

Low toilet it's difficult to get on and off

Good standard hotel on the seafront in Paignton. Clean, modern and efficient with a good breakfast served. Friendly staff.

The rooms are already showing signs of untreated wear and tear eg I saw scuffed and stained walls and a broken skirting board in my room. The parking was a bit expensive at £15 per day.

Bigger car parking spaces

Excellent location, Spacious room with comfortable bed. Light and airy. No intrusive noise.

Poor organisation in the restaurant, lack of table clearing, Dirty dishes stacked on bar. Replenishing of breakfast food was poor Cost of car parking which didn't guarantee a space if you went out during your stay. Shower tray flows out in rest of bathroom.
