Incredible views of Forio, the island, and the sea stretching westward. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable. Unique experience of staying in a functioning lighthouse.

Pool was very basic, which could be overlooked but for the constant presence of mosquitoes and an exposed rusty nail which the staff seemed relatively uninterested in addressing. Breakfast was lovely but the food served in the set tasting menu dinner was disappointing - the chef clearly has talent but on the night we sat down to dinner I sense he was over ambitious in the flavours and dishes he was preparing. Bathroom had plenty of amenities (sewing kit, shaving kit, dental kit) but was missing body lotion and conditioner which seem like basics at a hotel so premium. The markup we paid on everything organised through the hotel was noticeable and I began to resent it - €18 for an aperol spritz, €25 per day for a scooter (which had to be returned at 9am on the last day, but still incurred €25 daily charge), €30 taxi to Poiseidon Gardens when the taxi from Porto Forio to the hotel cost €17. We came to Ischia for our honeymoon and ultimately the hotel was a disappointment for the price we paid and experience we expected.
