This was a wonderful stay. The owner met us at our car, arranging a free place to park and drove us to and from our accommodation. His communication was excellent. The room was very comfortable with many small treats provided and also a coffee machine. The balcony offers a breathtaking view, and it is located directly over the gate to the medieval part of Matera. Excellent location!! The internet was also excellent. We highly recommend B&B Ventura.
No complaints.

What a perfect location! Right at the centre of Matera. The little balcony feels like you’re royalty, looking out over the town and all the people meandering below, best view in the Sassi! The room itself is homely, with a good sized bathroom, a useful little kitchen station and plenty of crockery and useful utensils if you wanted a basic meal or snack. Rocco greeted us warmly and showed us around. Helpful and charming, despite the language barrier.
The magnificent view is the star though. Unforgettable.
The bed was quite hard, as were the pillows, which disturbed my sleep a bit. Still worth it for that view!

This fabulous property is very near the Piazza Duomo, just before the arch but go through the arch as it is accessed from a back alley. Turning right, Rocco was at the foot of the stone steps to meet us walking up - he guessed it was me, looking at Phone map! (So do update your arrival time as precisely as you can!). Bright, fresh room, immaculate bedding and towels and - are you ready? - a spectacular view from the large window over the old sassi area to the north. A wonderful surprise.
All great!
