Friendly and approachable hosts with good tips on local travel and options etc. Offered home made rhubarb cake on arrival. Lent me £20 cash overnight (as my banking app was temporarily down, eek) when I realised I’d left my wallet at home (3 hours away) so I could get bus to my concert in Peak Cavern and buy tea in the pub next door. Really good full English breakfast with dairy free spread for my toast (as lactose intolerant). Excellent water pressure and heat in the shower which I really appreciated after dancing the night before!

The location of Thorndene is fantastic because it has the benefit of being outside the village of Hope while also being more accessible via train. Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. And the breakfasts were wonderful! With a dairy allergy, I honestly never know what to expect when I'm traveling in Britain, but the hosts accommodated my dietary preferences really well.
