Hotel Stafholt

Charming and cozy boutique hotel. One of my favorite stays in Iceland! The friendly staff and warm, homey atmosphere made the experience feel especially welcoming and memorable. Breakfast was at the hotel was delicious. Location was convenient, with restaurants and grocery stores about a 20-minute drive away. It was also a great base for exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Would happily stay here again!

Restaurant was Excellent! Hot tub was roomy and hot, plus you had a great view of the northern lights from the hot tub.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had to adjust our plans due to inclement weather and they provided many alternative activities as well as future suggestions for our next nights stay in Reykjavik. And the dinner was one of the best we had, not just in Iceland!

This property is in a great location to enjoy the Icelandic countryside with mountain views or landscapes all around. The staff were good and the meals fine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Need to be careful which room you get assigned. We were given a room - labelled as garden views - which looked at a corrugated metal wall 3 ft away. Even torturing the English language won’t deliver ‘garden views’ out of that. The picure of the rooms shows a view - if you closeup to the windows - which is clearly a landscape type view, not a metal wall. As far as we could determine, only 3 or 4 of the rooms have this problem. But they should not be priced as ‘rooms with a view’ and nor should they be charged at that level. I suspect these rooms are not used except in absolutely high season. And the place was full. Suggest negotiated beforehand which room you will be assigned.
