Hidden Gem in Hakone — Don’t Sleep on It
Asante Inn completely exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, cute, and beautifully organized, and the food was absolutely amazing. The private onsen was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring, no crowds, just pure relaxation. Access is super easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout. This place is a must, especially if you are on a tight budget, incredible value for what you get. Highly recommend! 🌿♨️

Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning. Free shuttles up to Gora in the morning are also a bonus (although you'll have to get yourself to Asante in the afternoon/evening as they don't offer shuttles then). Overall a great experience.

The staff were really lovely and very helpful. The shuttle bus service was very good. We had children with us and being able to use the private onsen was very nice for us, as they didn't want to try a shared/public one. The dinner options were reasonably priced and much better than expected, as was the breakfast. Overall, we had a great stay!
