The breakfast menu is very good with a range of choices from the full traditional cooked breakfast to much lighter and healthy options etc. The restaurant area is comfortable and everywhere is clean and attractively decorated. The breakfast staff deserve a special mention. They were friendly, helpful and cheerful and organised takeaway breakfasts for some of us (working on a trade stand at Stafford County Showground and needing a very early start). The eggs Benedict and eggs Royale were very tasty options. Good coffee and tea choices too. Couldn't fault it.

Just a couple of small issues: The curtains in our room were very tricky to open and close and could do with some silicone spray to lubricate the metal curtain rings and metal pole. More coat hooks would be helpful or an additional small chair for laying out clothes for the morning. In the bathroom, a hook for a hand towel near the sink would be good and save dripping water on the floor, as the towel hooks are sited on the wall behind the shower enclosure, which was a little impractical.

The hotel was lovely. The room was a really good size.. a very large and comfortable bed but the room was very cold.We put the radiator on but it only got luke warm and didnt help. The bar and restaurant area was lovely.. nicely decorated with a cosy feel and a good atmosphere. All the staff were cheerful, chatty and very friendly.

The restaurant seemed understaffed and the food really let the restaurant down. The very lovely and helpful young girl who checked us in seemed to be left to do a lot on her own. She was checking people in. showing them to their rooms.. seating people in the restaurant..taking food orders..bringing food to the tables.. She was so lovely but rushed off her feet. . Our table wasnt ready at our booking time so we sat in the bar area to wait and they forgot about us. I had to find someone to remind them after about 20minutes.. then we were left a further 15minutes before our order was taken. My husbands steak was very flavourless & tough, my burger looked great but was very dense, overcooked and very overseasoned, I didnt eat it. We shared a dessert and that was also not very nice to the point the custard was quite distasteful.. It is a shame as the hotel itself, bar and staff were all lovely but the food sadly was not.

We couldn’t get a table for food.

The breakfast was lovely, parking was very convenient, nice tea and coffee selection in the room.

The room did not look like the advertised photos, strange smell lingered the whole time, damp/leak stains on the walls, sharp exposed carpet grippers where carpet is too short, very warm room. Both of us had upset stomachs after dinner from restaurant.
