The hotel seems new and appears to be well maintained. The free breakfast was satisfactory most days, but sometimes the granola was gone or the mixed berries were literally frozen solid. Staff varied in their level of kind attention. For example, even though I had pre-paid my whole trip, at check-in I was asked for a credit card and told to authorize a $300 charge. No explanation was given for this charge - until I asked. On Day 3, I discovered that my room had not been serviced though it was supposed to be. The front desk staff were very apologetic and arranged to have it taken care of right away, while I was out at dinner. Prices for items in the little marketplace are excessively high.

This hotel is right in the Rapid City downtown and location is the best to explore the coffee houses and restaurants. Worked well for our 4th of july visit. The Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake and Needles are like 30-40 mins away. Highly recommended.

Loved the staff, especially Yolanda! The location was great, everything was clean. Suggest having real eggs for breakfast, but in general, breakfast was great as well!
