Room Mate Mario, Madrid

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location was perfect and within walking distance of all the main attractions. Gran Vía, the Opera metro station, as well as many cafés, restaurants and shops, are all nearby. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. Check-in was quick and easy, and it was also very convenient to have the option to store our bags. The room was a good size and had everything we needed, including a mini fridge, safe, plenty of hangers, air conditioning, a kettle and toiletries. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, with a great selection to choose from. Everything was fresh and tasty. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.

The only issue we had was that the TV wasn’t working very well.

The location was amazing. It's been my favorite hotel when I visit Madrid because you are few steps from the Royal Palace, from metro station, from Gran Via and Sol plaza. The friendliness of staff Good pricing Comfortable beds Breakfast quite basic but it's a 2star hotel, so people that are not peaky eaters will find something for themselves. We loved the sweet pastries and cookies.

We booked 3 rooms and all three had very bad lighting. We came to Madrid for a concert so it was a nightmare getting ready and doing our makeup. One of the rooms had extremely bad sewer smell. The same room also had ants. It's very unfortunate because I've stayed in this hotel many times before and never any issues. One of our guests was very unsatisfied. We didn't make a deal out of it because the guest noticed ants during the last night. The bathroom furniture was quite worn ou in all of the rooms. Would be good to have fresh orange juice.

Good location right next to opera train station. provided water in the room and hat water jug downstairs. Decent sized room.

Bed only had a sheet on it so I got the blanket out of the closet and I couldn’t use it because it clearly hadn’t been washed and had someone’s hair all over it. Ended up being cold both nights. It seemed if the air was on it would just run unless turned off. Did not seem to be an in between, but did not use the blanket because it was dirty.
