The Mermaid Den encompasses everything beach with bright colors, coastal art, and an easy atmosphere. Centrally located in Forest Ridge Villages (near the entrance) guests have access to the pool, playground, tennis courts, grilling area, and only a short walk to the beach.
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit is on the second story (you must utilize the stairs) surrounded by large, twisting oak trees dripping in Spanish moss.
Upon entering the unit guests are greeted by a clean, comfortable, and charming space. The main living area is equipped with a sofa, chair, new sliding glass doors that lead to the balcony, and a large flat-screen TV providing access to online streaming with YouTube TV. The dining room table can accommodate six people comfortably and the bar stools add an additional two seats.
The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials including a NEW dishwasher, pots/pans, cookware, baking dishes, coffee maker (Keurig), toaster, and blender. Down the hall, you will find a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo, washer/dryer and three bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a King bed, TV, closet and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The second room has a Queen bed, walk-in closet,and TV. The third room has a twin bed and a walk-in closet.
Although this rental is not located beachfront, it is only a 200-yard walk and your toes will be in the sand. Amelia Island features a wide array of tourist attractions such as uncrowded beaches, historic buildings, fine restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and many diverse recreational activities such as top-rated golf courses, tennis, beachcombing, sailing, jet-skiing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, miniature golf, volleyball, horseback riding, surfing, biking, and more. History buffs will appreciate Fort Clinch and our Historic Downtown area.
Fresh linens, towels and a starter kit of disposables are provided (travel-size shampoo/conditioner and body wash along with a limited number of laundry pods, dish pods, coffee, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and one sponge.)
There is one designated parking spot along with Visitor parking.

The host was great at communication. The property was good, on the small side. WiFi and TV worked great. Great location to the beach and nature walks. Downsides were limited drawers for storing clothes in the bedrooms, washer and dryer loud, dryer took multiple cycles to dry, no microwaveable plates in the kitchen (only a few bowls were micro-safe), master bed mattress is worn and rolls you to the middle, master toilet gave us some trouble flushing but we made it work, master bath has broken vanity drawers, hall shower needs caulking around faucet handle, and bottom of oven hasn’t been cleaned in a minute-smoked when we used it. Beware of the neighborhood “police” - they walk around multiple times a day putting notes/violation notices on vehicles who are not abiding by “their” parking rules - not parking in assigned spots, vehicle to close or hanging over the sidewalk, oversized vehicles, etc. They will take pictures of your vehicle too. Saw them in the middle of the day and around midnight. Although they didn’t put any notices on our vehicles, we saw them do this to others, and they did take pictures of one of our vehicles. We also watched them accost a group in the parking lot just as they were unloading their vehicle - telling them they had parked in an “owners” spot. I don’t believe this is a reflection of the host, though. The host advised us beforehand of being limited to only 2 spots.

The stay was nice. Accommodations were good. The dryer did not dry real good and had to be turned on twice to dry the towels we had washed. The spare bathroom had an issue with the outlet. The lights went out but were quickly turned back on after some high winds in the area. The chair in the living room was questionable to sturdiness. It felt broken in the middle. Overall a good place to stay for the money. Everyone was quick to respond if I had a question or needed something. Great location to food and beach access.

The condo was very clean, decently stocked kitchen, king size bed & pillows uncomfortable.Pool was nice but the weather was too cold to use. No closets in 2 spare bedrooms. Overall pretty nice stay
