The village of Windermere is just 1 mile away, while Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere are all with easy reach. Or why not take the car ferry that still crosses the lake between Ferry Nab and Ferry House, and provides a convenient approach to the western side of the lake for access to the villages of Hawkshead and Sawrey. Fabulous property, had everything we needed. Everywhere very clean, beds extremely comfortable. Nice and quiet area but close to bus stop and easy walking distance to Bowness.

Lovely property only 10 minutes from the piers in Bowness.
Very quiet area.
You need a torch.
We would be happy to stay there again.
Needs a bit of TLC after the Winter.

Pros: The house location is excellent. You can walk to many restaurants. Beds are very comfortable. Sheets and Towels are great quality. If you choose to cook, it appeared to have all the items needed.
Cons: It was very cold in the house and we could not figure out how to turn on the heaters. They didn't seem to work well. I emailed asking the question and never received a response. It would be nice to have some type of instructions to the heat, fireplaces, and appliances. We arrived later in the evening and was disappointed that a starter soap or shampoo was not included. We didn't even have soap to wash our hands. Maybe it is normal in this area, however most homes we have stayed in have some type of starter items. I would stay in this home again and would highly recommend due to the location, however the reasons above are the reason I gave it a lower rating.
