Duet hostel

Nice location and cafe /restaurant. You can book jeeps and tours through them. They also have the ‘look for a buddy’ system you can look for other to hike or do a trip with. We put our name down in advance and found some people to join us. Let us store our bags for a few days while we did the Ala kul hike

Unfortunately there was a random power cut in this area. Meant no power for a h while but the electricity workers came to fix it and was working again around 8:30am

These guys are legends. Lots of good advice and suggestions. Nothing is too much trouble for them and all with a smile.

I stayed in an 8 room co-ed dorm. The beds were comfortable, they had curtains for privacy, with an electrical outlet and light with a small shelf inside. They had small lockers and you need your own lock. It was cozy and warm inside the dorm area, and there was a larger room with kitchen resources, tables and couches that I didn't use. There were two toilet rooms and two shower rooms and two sinks in the bathroom area. The shower drain was slow, but other than that it was fairly clean- not perfect, but fine. The cafe was great, good variety and delicious, with fair prices. They also had some fun entertainment and music, which definitely encouraged a social vibe, which was great. You didn't have to stay at the hostel to eat at the cafe. They have a signup sheeet for carpools for a shared taxi to the first bridge for the Ala Kul trek. The total price is 2500 som, split by people in the car. There's an additional fee to get in the national park too, 300 som (you pay that on the way, not to the hostel.) They also have a large white board where you can post looking for companions or shared taxis to other locations around Karakol, it was very useful. You do need to stay at the hostel to leave your luggage, which I did. It's a large room with a security camera. I was able to put my camera in a smaller locker with my own lock. There's also an outdoor equipment store next door where you can rent hiking poles or anything else.

Nothing, it was exactly like a hostel! A bit cramped for space, but that's pretty much any hostel.

Aquest lloc té molt bones vibracions. El personal és molt simpàtic i t'ajuden amb el què poden. Hem tingut una habitació de dos persones. Una espècie de suite amb una banyera integrada dins l'habitació que ens ha donat molt joc.
