Region: A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Town: This small market town in Shropshire has a welcoming and quaint feel about it, nestled just north of the Shropshire Hills AONB, near borders of Wales and England, it is the perfect base for touring a wonderful region of Britain. This town is the administrative centre for the northern area committee of Shropshire council and occupies a town hall, train station, real ale pubs, cosy cafes and welcoming restaurants, as well as a few specialty shops bursting with delights.
