Just five minutes from Mornington, around 20 minutes from Red Hill and less than an hour from Melbourne, the cottage is perfectly positioned for a weekend of wineries, restaurants, beaches, farm gates and exploring – or for doing very little at all.

Your own little cottage in the country

Inspired by the charm of a traditional miner's cottage, Windmill Cottage sits separately from the main farmhouse with its own gated entrance, parking and private garden.

Inside, the cottage has been thoughtfully designed as a couples' retreat. At the heart of the space is a luxurious king-size bed, complemented by a bespoke ensuite, kitchenette and comfortable living space.

Step outside and you'll find an undercover BBQ and entertaining area overlooking the surrounding paddocks. Depending on who's feeling sociable, your neighbours might include the farm's sheep, horses or alpacas.

It's peaceful, private and unmistakably rural – yet Mornington's cafés, restaurants, shops and beaches are only minutes away.

Stay in or head out

Windmill Cottage makes an ideal base for discovering the Mornington Peninsula.

Spend the morning wandering Mornington's Main Street or walking along the beach, head into Red Hill for a long winery lunch, visit local farm gates and producers, explore the Peninsula's spectacular coastline or make a day of the region's gardens, galleries and cellar doors.

Then come home to the quiet of the farm.

Pour a glass of local wine, put something on the record player, fire up the BBQ and watch the paddocks change in the evening light.

And if the weather turns? That's almost better. Stay in, get cosy and enjoy having nowhere you need to be.
