Welcome to The Otty House — a brand-new waterfront cottage designed for long, easy days by the lake and genuinely comfortable stays with family and friends.

Set directly on the water, the house combines the feeling of a classic Ontario cottage with the comfort of a newly built home. Large windows bring the lake into the living spaces, with beautiful views throughout the day and plenty of room to gather, relax, read, cook, watch a movie or simply look out at the water.

The main living area is built for spending time together. Sink into the oversized sectional — big enough for the whole group — and enjoy movies, music and evenings in with large-screen TVs and a high-end surround-sound system. Fast Wi-Fi means you can stream, work remotely or stay connected without giving up the feeling of being away from it all.

One of the things we cared about most when creating the house was sleep. The cottage has four bedrooms, including three king bedrooms and a room with a custom queen-over-queen bunk bed. Every mattress is brand new, medium-firm and chosen for comfort, with crisp cotton sheets and proper bedside lighting. The king bedrooms have lamps with USB charging, while the queen bunk has integrated lighting and USB charging built right into the bed.

The sleeping setup makes the house particularly comfortable for families, couples travelling together or multigenerational groups — no one has to feel as though they drew the short straw when it comes to the bedrooms.

Upstairs, the loft provides another inviting space to spread out. It is a great place to retreat with a book, give kids or teenagers some space of their own, or simply enjoy another perspective over the house and the lake. There is also a queen sofa bed for additional sleeping flexibility.

The house is fully air-conditioned with individual thermostats in every bedroom, so even the hottest Ontario summer days stay comfortable inside.

And, of course, the reason to come is the lake.

Step outside and you are directly on the waterfront, with the changing light, quiet mornings and open water forming the backdrop to your stay. Have coffee looking out over the lake, spend the afternoon by the water, then come back inside to a seriously comfortable couch, good sound, a movie and beds you will actually look forward to sleeping in.

The Otty House sleeps up to 10 guests and works especially well for families and groups who want the beauty and informality of cottage life without sacrificing comfort.

We built The Otty House to be the kind of cottage we would want to stay in ourselves: relaxed but not rustic, beautiful without being precious, and comfortable enough that a rainy day at the lake can be almost as enjoyable as a sunny one.
