Colonial Inn

Great location! Loved the hot tub, breakfast, and cookies in the lobby.

Parking might be a little difficult but it did not affect us.

The location is simply perfect. Close to the shops and restaurants downtown; a 10-minute walk to Perkins Cove; and very close to a Marginal Way path. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were super clean. I think the free breakfast deserves a shoutout as it’s listed as “continental” but features hot food like frittatas (which were excellent), sausage links, and hash browns. Also, the fresh baked cookies every day at 2, and free coffee all day, was a nice touch. Beyond all that, the manager (maybe owner) Chuck, was an absolute delight. He was incredibly friendly and helpful at every turn.

The bathroom could use some updating, particularly the shower. While the hot water and pressure were excellent, the controls were way too old and clunky. There was also some clanging and banging from the walls, too, but it was more a minor inconvenience than something that would prevent me from returning.

Love the location and the ambience. Room was comfortable. Although in the garden Grove, if you are on the first floor, the noise of the people walking above you can be a little bothersome. The woman at the front desk that greeted us who is the general manager, was phenomenal and full of customer service and a welcoming demeanor.

Did not like the effect of the front desk staff after the general manager was there. Did not feel welcome and when we had an issue with maid not cleaning our room, in there was no sense of an apologetic discourse. Very hard to understand and very cold. This is our second time within a couple months, staying at the hotel. Our first visit had a much higher grade than the second secondary to the noisy room and the affect of staff at our second visit

Location

the room smelled, we did not have a room in the main Inn, the room was more like a bungalow, the occupants above our room made noice all night breakfast was horrible, both days milk was always out, tried the fruit, but was rotten, the food was half frozen, we noticed other guests went out to by breakfast and ate it in the dining room, we had no choice but to go out and buy breakfast as well.
