The Durham Hotel

A fine location

The elevator broke down, and it took over two days to fix it. Since it was the only customer elevator and there wasn’t much urgency to repair it, this incident revealed a lot about the management culture.

We enjoyed our stay here, the service was great and the room was clean.

Nice decor

Room was on 4th floor and the thumping music from the rooftop bar was very loud and continued after 10pm on a weeknight. Very annoying. And the shower water pressure was very low.

The main elevator wasn’t working so we were having to use a service elevator. They hadn’t cleared the area of maintenance items and extra items like vacuums, furniture etc. The biggest issue is that I originally booked directly through the hotel and was charged over $100 in service fees on top of $75 in taxes! There was no breakdown of what that was for. When I booked with you all those fees went away. There was nothing special about this hotel room and it was very expensive
