Wood-fired hot tub worked really well and heated up quickly. Charcuterie board was lovely and generous.
The 2-bedroom villa is less that 100 metres from the R45 (main/busy road going into Franschhoek). This is not a private or relaxing spot as advertised. Traffic is visible and audible from the garden/verandah area. In addition, property is right next to Maison Estate, where a wedding went on until the small hours of the morning. Only reason I would stay again is if I was attending a wedding next door and needed a short walk to bed.
Bath in the main bathroom did not heat beyond lukewarm.
Random staff kept popping up. First, gardener/groundsman appeared to pick up fruit and tend to garden beds, then hostess/manager to enquire about timings on food we had ordered (multiple times). Phoning ahead would have been appreciated.
Breakfast and coffee were below average.
Trash in the river and surrounding farmland.
