St. David's Hotels Paddington

Close to Paddington station, quiet street, friendly & helpful staff, fast Wi-Fi, clean, roomy for London. It was the cheapest room around & served its purpose: to sleep & leave!

Basement room (I expected for the price), no A/C, no ventilation, no elevator (didn’t know before checkin but didn’t need, shower had great pressure but lukewarm at best, definitely heard the tube train rumble, but not at night 12-6am

I stay here regualrly for work and the staff always go the extra mile. For a 'budget' hotel in London, you can't ask for more, it is always clean and everything works! Beds are comfy, always an extra pillow (crucial for us people with back pain!) and when I request, they always provide me room on the ground floor (due to struggling to carry heavy bags.) Free luggage store is a huge bonus too. Currently there is building work/scaffolding up - but that can't be helped. It genuinely didn't cause any issue to my stay at all - will certainly be staying again :)

Decor was fresh and contemporary. The small space was well-organised & comfortable. The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Two things that are not the hotel’s fault - the rumble of the tube & the steep stairs to the room. I would have preferred ceramic cups for tea in the morning.

Close to Paddington Station. Clean. Water refill station.

Don’t stay in room 1623. I think the Underground is within 5 feet of the bed! It’s where the coffee machine is (noisy), the cleaners get out their equipment (noisy), the passage to anywhere else (noisy) and it’s so small you can only use one side of the bed. It’s not shown in any of the photos (possibly because the camera couldn’t fit!)
