The Horse and Farrier Inn and The Salutation Inn Threlkeld Keswick

Renovated well appointed room; heated bathroom floor; ground level so no stairs to lug suitcases up; very welcoming staff who put ice pack on ice for injured ankle; wifi was good; comfortable bed. Great meals and drinks if you wish to dine in.

Had an ankle injury so walk to the car park a little problematic; quite a drive into nearest sizable town if you want shopping and dining options.

Really clean throughout. Good size room. Good food, staff and drinks. Plenty of free car parking

Very good location, right next to Blencathra. Nice cozy room. Inns own restaurant with fantastic staff.

The Horse and Farrier is a lovely old building. The room was pleasant. Large bathroom. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly. Plenty of parking.

Initially we were given a room in the Salutation . It was horrible. The beds were awful. Tiny shower and toilet room. The worst thing was the smell! It smelt like vomit! There is a sofa bed which was so dirty. My husband was looking for the remote control and lifted up the cushions and there were dead flies in it! After an hour of sitting there we couldn’t stay any longer so went to speak with the manager and he moved us to the horse and farrier. If you get offered room number 3 do not take it! The manager said a dog had been sick in there 2 weeks previously and the carpet had been deep cleaned! The carpet was filthy and no way had been deep cleaned
