Very good location, next to the Nishiki market. Very clean, and available self-laundromat for 100 yen.

Room size quite small if you are travelling with oversized luggage. Breakfast experience a bit disappointing near the end of service, with some items not being refilled; no fresh fruit; and the background music choice felt a bit off for a morning meal.

This hotel is truly unique and creative in so many ways. I loved the thoughtful touches, such as being able to choose your own pillow and pajamas, as well as the hotel’s genuine focus on sustainability and being environmentally friendly. The breakfast was another highlight, with freshly baked bakery items and a great variety of delicious options. On top of all that, the rooms were exceptionally clean, and the location in the heart of Kyoto was incredibly central and convenient. A wonderful stay overall!

The only thing I found stressful was the repeated communication about check-in time before arrival. After booking, I was contacted several times to provide, confirm, and reconfirm my check-in time. Each time, the messages mentioned that if I didn’t arrive during the check-in time period, the reservation could be canceled and a fee might apply. While I understand the hotel wants to know guests’ arrival times, the repeated reminders felt unnecessary and added some stress, especially when travel plans can change. A more flexible and streamlined approach to check-in communication would make the experience even better.
