The Norman Guest House

The owners were excellent and ensured that everything was going well, and assisted where they could. The house was conveniently placed for access to the town. We had breakfast one day and it was very good.

We would have preferred a large bed, and the compromise of 2 singles pushed together didn't work for us. As Australians, we like big showers, like most places in the UK, the showers are pretty weak.

Although we have been to Dover many times, this was our first stay at the Norman Guesthouse. It is such a lovely place, with a great view of the castle and the harbour. It is also very close to the train station, so for us, travelling on to London by train this time, it was the perfect place to stay. Everything felt very friendly and personal. The contact with the owners, the breakfast, the nice conversations and the free parking right in front of the house made this night a wonderful end to our holiday. We would definitely stay here again!

Super friendly and helpfull staff. Good location. Free parking on the street.

The beds are bit old and not the most comfortable.

Dover in and of itself is not a very nice place. The part of town where the guest house is located, is pretty noisy and dirty. One of the neighbors was coughing and shouting in his garden at night. Sleeping with open windows was impossible. The guest house itself is very old and very cheaply furnished. It’s OK for a night but no more.
