Sanga Nikko - An Authentic Japanese Guesthouse Experience

We had a fantastic couple of days at Sanga Nikko, it was the perfect place to explore Nikko from. It was a prime location, close to all travel connections but also you could easily walk to lots of site seeing spots and shops and restaurants. A special word for our hosts who were so welcoming and made us feel at home in their home. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and Yoshi gave us some great advice to help make our stay memorable. He also went out of his way to help with transferring luggage and some laundry help we needed. Couldn’t fault Sanga Nikko at all and would recommend it to anyone.

You don’t have a private shower, there are two shared ones but this was not an issue for us.

It was very clean and comfortable in a great location with a Japanese aesthetic . The best thing was our host Yoshi and his wife who were excellent hosts with perfect advice for a two day stay. Second to none

We were given a warm welcome; Yoshi explained everything to us and gave us some great tips on sightseeing and restaurants. The house is wonderful – it has everything you could possibly need. The ‘small’ breakfast was very generous and delicious. Coffee, tea, sake… everything was there. The rooms are cosy! The pictures are real

We stayed for 2 nights during (some people would say) off-season, but the warm hospitality and kindness and generosity of Yoshi and Rei made our stay so fun, calm and peaceful. Yoshi-San was even kind to offer planning the days in Nikko in depth and supplied us with papers and information on the different sites and routes across Nikko, went beyond hosts to almost close parents. We’ve had amazing conversations on life and we’ve really connected to them. If you’re looking for more laid back yet comfortable authentic Japanese hospitality, book your stay with them! They’re so adorable too they gave us fruits in the mornings, a free photoshoot and they’ve given us stamps of our names with their meanings! Literally everything is superb!❤️🫶🏻
