My daughter and I have been visiting Ft Lauderdale in the days following Christmas for years. We’ve been to a small but luxurious hotel, and while beautiful it was not baby friendly. Last year we tried Margaritaville in Hollywood. It’s a huge property and found it a bit overwhelming with average food.
This year we rented at Pelican Grand, a resort directly on the beach in Ft Lauderdale. It checked all the boxes! We had a fabulous stay and I believe we have found our winter vacation spot!

Room was clean and comfortable with a great oceanfront view. The resort is literally steps from the Atlantic. The owner is very responsive to any questions we had.

Mike was an amazing host! This was our first time staying at a VRBO and we didn't know what to expect.. we had some concerns before our trip because the Pelican Grand didn't even show our reservation but Mike got it fixed right away.. On the day we arrived, we got there at 4:00pm which is the time for check-in, this is where everything went sideways! Our room wasn't ready, we had already been traveling all day and was exhausted with an infant.. As my husband was trying to check us in, we got blindsided with a $750 incidental charge! Then we were told that if we wanted extra towels, we would be charged $35 per set for any towels other than what was already in the room.. Our valet was supposed to be 45/day but we were charged 60/day because we had an Expedition.
If we decide to do another VRBO, we would definitely choose a property with Mike as the host but likely not stay at the Pelican Grand.. the front desk staff was not friendly at all!
Example, we decided to go to the beach and it was a disaster because the waves were rough, so we were all full of sand.. our 9mo old granddaughter was upset because she had sand everywhere, we decided to go inside and try to shower off all the sand.. on the way back up to our room, we asked for extra towels so we all could shower.. it took 2 phone calls to get extra towels, then ended up only giving us one set of towels for 5 people to use.. We tried to clean up the sand as much as we could.. but, there was no broom in the room..

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pelican Grand. The hotel had a cozy, boutique feel despite its size and the condo was very clean, stylish and comfortable. It felt like the ocean was right outside our door and dining on the beachfront veranda was really wonderful. You can sit outside and order food from either of the two restaurants which was nice.

Had a wonderful stay at this condo. It was exactly as described in the listing - both the room and the amenities. Everything is very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Free use of lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach and they also have some boogie boards and sand toys you can use. Restaurant is pricey - we ate most of our dinners at the Sandbar Grill right next door. Delicious food and easier on the wallet. Also got a delivery from Publix with food for breakfast and lunches. Don’t forget to order (or bring) paper plates/napkins/plastic silverware. Not many places within walking distance, but the concierge gave us a card for a transportation service that operates on tips only. Turns out it was a road legal golf cart which we ended up using several times while we were there. It added to the fun! They were very nice and quick to respond to our request for a ride. One night we rode the golf cart to eat dinner at Shooters on the Intercoastal. After dinner we boarded the water taxi and rode the 10-stop loop. It was my family’s favorite activity of the week. You can buy an all day pass for the water taxi ($35?) or a $20 pass that is good from 5pm-10pm. They tell you all about the houses/yachts and other interesting things you pass by on the Intercoastal. You can get on and off at different stops if you like. (My kids are 21 and 23 - might not be as interesting to younger kids). The resort pool and lazy river are very nice. Towels provided at beach and pool.

The photos are so accurate on this property. You get exactly what you see. It was my first VRBO experience and it was flawless! We enjoyed the beach, pool, lazy river and of course the ice cream!! Highly recommend staying here!

The room is immaculate and extremely well decorated and has all the amenities you would want.
Awesome sitting area to just hang out and talk or watch TV, the bedroom area spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
Bathroom extremely well done and modern with a great shower area.
The view from the balcony is terrific, if you get the chance get up early one day and watch the sun rise over the ocean, absolutely stunning.
The hotel is well kept, with a really nice deck to relax on.
There is a really nice bar area adjacent to the pool which looked really nice but we are beach people and spent our time on an absolutely beautiful beach!
Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are included.
Restaurant was nice although we spent time exploring some restaurants in the area.
All in all it was one of our best vacations we ever had and look forward to booking again.
If you have the opportunity to book please don't hesitate, you will not regret it!

We booked a short last minute girls trip and was excited to find this place! Its a room within the Pelican Grand so you get access to all the amenities! The room itself is lovely. The bathroom is redone and shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, lotion were provided. The beds were cloudlike! I love soft beds, but if you like a more firm mattress beware! Separate living room area and amazing balcony views its on the right side of the building where it starts to jut out, so you get an awesome view all the way up the beach! Also the room has so many plugs / strips with usb chargers - great touch!
Check in was easy, although promised at 4pm we were told check-in wasn't until 430 so we stored our luggage and did some exploring. Pleasantly suprised that wifi was included / free as the listing said it would be charged. Resort was mostly renevated it seems although some common spaces are still dated. The beach is nice and there was plenty of space. The pool is small for the size of the resort, but I think the photo portrays that. The lazy river was much smaller than I expected based on the picture but still nice to float around in until children invaded. The resort was not busy when we were there, but obviously more busy once Friday afternoon arrived and the pool was quickly crowded and there was very little space, but we got there early so it wasn't a big deal, just not 'relaxing' if that is what you are looking for during the weekend. Great experience, would definitely stay again!

Everything about our stay was top notch. The host responds almost immediately to inquiry and is respectful and professional.
The property itself is absolutely stunning and like in his add, one of the few places directly on the ocean in Ft. Laudy. The resort is equally as stunning. All of the staff is kind and helpful and their facilities are 5/5 stars.
The room is clean and exactly as advertised. The view is unrivaled and we will be coming back.

We had a great time at the Pelican Grand! The unit was very nice and clean with a great view of the ocean. Highly recommend eating breakfast at the resort restaurant, the food was delicious and the tables are very close to the water. My husband enjoyed working out in the gym in the resort as well. Overall a great trip!

If you take a left outside of the building at the light out front, go down about a mile, there's wonderful little shops, restaurants and juice bars.
If you take a right outside of the building and go next door they've got enormous flat bread pizzas.

10/10 and truly a magical experience. I live locally and had family come in town for a girls getaway. I booked this room, never have been here before and can say I found my go-to staycation spot. From the moment we pulled up to the front doors to the minute we pulled away we were treated like VIP customers. The room was immaculate, the balcony view had a breathtaking view of the ocean, the beds were so soft and cozy, and the hospitality went above and beyond. We had a little birthday night in and the front desk was even able to supply a birthday candle at 10PM because we had forgotten ours. Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most. When I did need to reach the host my questions were always answered in less than a minute. My review could go on and on about all the wonderful things this place has to offer, but trust me when I say you need to experience it for yourself. Can’t wait to return!

Loved our stay in room 724. The room was as described. Clean, nice amenities, and one of the best views. The restaurant, lobby, bar, pool, and all was so nice to have within a quick elevator ride. Each night there was live music on the porch, which I enjoyed very much! The staff really makes this stay special. Every staff member we encountered were super friendly - making our stay - a home away from home. We cant wait to visit again!

This was my first stay in Michaels room and it was AMAZING! Beautiful large balcony with 2 sturdy chairs , so CLOSE to the ocean , I just loved it. The decor in this room is very nice! The cooling works very well and this place is SUPER clean :) Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and 2-3 rolls of toilet paper are provided too. This room is delightful and also has a nice couch in the second room. The beds and pillows here are a 10/10 ( and I can be fussy ). They are both supportive yet soft . Michael also responded quickly to any questions I had. Don’t have any doubts , this room is a gem , BOOK IT , ENJOY :)

We had such a great time on our recent trip. The unit was perfect, very clean, comfortable beds/linens and beautifully decorated! The hotel staff was great, particularly at the pool. We also had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was delicious! Mike was very responsive and helpful. We visit Fort lauderdale often this will definitely be our go to place going forward!

Overall the room is in good shape and a good size/set up for my family of 5. Mike was always quick to respond before, during and after the booking process. I made a few suggestions to him about the room after our stay and he said it will be taken care of. The hotel is on the beach so cannot complain about that but it is a little more weathered then the pictures lead on to be. Staff is nice, concierge was super helpful! Unfortunately it poured 3 out of 4 days there and the airport shut down. Mike did check in on us during this time.

Amazing view from a large corner balcony. Large spacious shower with upgraded shower head and it was CLEAN . The whole room was immaculate and beautifully upgraded with all the things that make your vacation perfect. I can’t wait to stay again. Wonderful Host ! This property is perfect in so many ways! Having a separate bedroom and living room is very nice. The balcony faces the ocean so the view is fantastic. The towels and bed linens are top notch and the beds are super comfy. We enjoyed having some of our meals at the restaurant on-site. We highly recommend staying at this property!
