Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

The staff are exceptional. Not just friendly but a warm smile and chat. Very efficient breakfast staff and bar staff who are friendly and efficient. Service is prompt and warmly delivered. They also make the best Old Fashioneds! All members of the team appear highly trained and know what it means to give a friendly service - by far the most impressive aspect of the hotel. Breakfasts were very well cooked and cooked to order. Based on the standard of cooking, we’ll try evening meals next time. We visited with a relative who had limited mobility and nothing was too much trouble for the team. Perfect location. We’ve stayed in many different hotels in Edinburgh over the past 30yrs, but this is the default for us now. By far the best at this price point.

The prices are much higher than other UK cities, but this, sadly, is a feature of all central hotels in Edinburgh and Apex are no different in that respect

Location was great, breakfast also. Staff (especially young lady on duty on Sat. afternoon and evening) were great.

I don't remember asking for a quiet room. There was a strange noise like loud water running ,especially when window was open in the early evening

Historical and was pretty

Emotionally booked tomoroximity to the Jo ho buses for convenience; this was not the case anymore

The view from our room

Leaky shower
