The Continental Hotel, Derby

Last stop, and we picked it for the location. Central, simple, and a bargain at the price. That is the review, mostly. We did not eat there, so the kitchen gets a pass. The room did what a room should do at the end of a long trip. What lifted it was the staff: pleasant, kind, and one charming man in particular who made checking in feel like someone was actually glad you had turned up. Derby has gone downhill. That is not the hotel’s fault. You are not booking the town. You are booking a fair room, a central bed, and people who treat you properly, for not much money. On those terms it is an 8, and I would use it again.

Excellent hotel, well located, nice and helpful staff. The bed was very confortable and the room was very spacious. I asked for some food from the restaurant, is was quite late but they still serving me in my room. Thank you for all the attention I received!!

At breakfast, it could be nice to see more variety of food, for example; different types of bread and fruits.

Good value compared to all the hotels in Nottingham that weekend which were at least twice the price for the Saturday night booked

Shower was difficult to operate Free breakfast was only a poor continental breakfast
