The hotel was lovely, staff helpful and great location.

Bathroom got very steamed up after a shower and there didn't seem to be a vent/fan and only a tiny window. Also found the room quite dark and had to put a light on. Light in the hallway to the bathroom didn't work and I couldn't see in the wardrobe

Location was good. I went for a gig at the Palais and it was a five minute walk away. They provided some bonus amenities in the room too, like tea/coffee, biscuits, shower cap etc. Breakfast was also decent.

I didn't receive the warmest welcome, and whenever I went up to the desk I got the feeling I was intruding. The room itself also wasn't as pleasant looking as I expected- there were scratches on the walls, the decor was a bit funny, there was no TV remote, the bathroom mirror light didn't work and the bed wasn't very comfy. The spring dug into my back. For a hotel with such a rich history, I was expecting better, to be honest. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't value for money.
