Thaproban Beach House

We loved Thaproban Beach house. Having space from the kids was amazing. We were in one of the "attic" rooms and I didn't realize it from the pictures, but there are two king beds. One with the balcony and the second up in the attic room. Each space had an a/c unit and we were plenty cool in the room. The beds were comfortable enough for Sri Lanka. Staff were so nice and helpful. The a/c started leaking in the middle of the night and the staff fixed it the next day while we enjoyed the beach. Being right on the water was amazing!

"Hot water" in the bathroom was never above luke warm. We were usually hot coming in from the beach, so it was okay, but sometimes at night you want a hot shower- ha ha. There are not blackout curtains over all the windows in the attic room, so my kids were up quite early. Perhaps we ordered poorly, but no one really liked the breakfast. Much happier when we walked to get breakfast from a different place and didn't worry about what was "included"

Loved this place, we had the penthouse room and it was just gorgeous, perfectly clean, large and with an amazing view. The food is fantastic, and the staff so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the town and the beach.

The location in the center of Unawatuna is perfect, they are placed in a street with small shops and very close to the beach. The room is also very clean and big and the people working there are very helpful

Close and easy access to the beach. Lovely front desk staff. Let me keep my bags at the front desk for a while after checkout.

I stayed in the penthouse which was slightly different to the pictures. The view wasn’t the same. My bed sheets had some stains on them. The hotel overall felt a bit outdated. For the amount of money I spent it wasn’t worth it at all. Breakfast was very mediocre. You have to tell them the night before if you want a Sri Lanka bfast which I wasn’t told. Also the reviews about the noise and music are real- I thought because it was low season it would be quieter but there was music till 10-11 pm at night
