Joya Boutique Hotel

I stayed here for my birthday and absolutely LOVED my experience. We were a group of 5 and the only ones on the property so it felt like our own private villa. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such a great kindness. I was worried that due to the time of our arrival, we wouldn't be able to get any dinner but the staff stayed on to make sure we had delicious food. The staff is really the highlight of this property (along with the views). Kulinga and Josephine were AMAZING!!! They were so incredibly kind and helpful and made us feel very welcomed. We also felt very safe with the 24-hour security onsite. Our tour guide Shawal was also lovely and helpful in coordinating ride transfers and different activities. The food was delicious and freshly prepared every single day. I loved the many options that they provided and we never felt bored of what we were eating. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. I especially loved the beachfront rooms on the ground floor with hammock and lounge chair access. The property itself is set on a beautiful beach and we thoroughly enjoyed the views during both low and high tide. We actually only used the pool once because we were on the beach so often. We were able to receive massages right on the property by an incredible masseuse with flexible timing. Overall, if you're looking to visit Zanzibar and stay in Jambiani, I would highly recommend Joya! I would also consider their neighboring villa property. Thank you to the entire Joya team and staff for making my birthday vacation so wonderful!!

The WiFi signal wasn't the best but honestly we took that as a sign to unplug more to enjoy our time.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft am Strand von Jambiani. Wir hatten ein Superior Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick. Es war einfach fantastisch. Da es nur 6 Zimmer gibt, herrschte absolute Ruhe und private Atmosphäre. Der Strand ist wunderschön, die Lage bestens. Man kann fußläufig den Ort erreichen oder am Strand Bars und Gaststätten besuchen. Das Essen und der Service im Hotel waren großartig. Das Team war immer darauf bedacht, alles zu einem rundum schönen Urlaub zu gestalten. Besonders Kulinga haben wir ins Herz geschlossen. Bei unserem nächsten Sansibar-Urlaub kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder ins Joya. Klare Empfehlung!

The rooms facing the ocean were amazing!

The front rooms are very close to the beach, so when using the terrace you are quite exposed to the beach boys who are constantly trying to sell products or services. This can be annoying, especially at first, before you get used to the local culture.
