Could provide list of surrounding activities ; also pool was very nice, water was just OK at the time we were there (could be more clear). Watch out with spicy food ! Could tune up the piano ! Watch out for mosquitos !

The setting and architecture was English colonial style, it felt very aristocratic. The rooms were very big with a comfortable big bed and pillows. We had a swimming pool in our bathroom, which we did use several times, the bathroom was massive with a fantastic powerful shower and double sinks. The property and a really lovely calm and serene feeling. We came back early most days just so we could relax in the quiet of the gardens, watching the sea eagles, mongoose, monkey and squirrels. Ajith Kamara, the Manager at the hotel is absolutely fantastic. He definitely went up and beyond what is expected of a manager, for us personally and with other hotel guests. Ajith is what makes The Postcard Galle the fantastic place it is today. The breakfast, lunch and Dinner was really good also. Great views from the balconies of most rooms of the river and the sea beyond. The swimming pool was also really great to cool down in during the hot days. All the staff were great they couldn’t do enough for any of the guests, making sure you had everything you needed.

The Postcard Hotel is about 6km from Galle Fort where the bars and restaurants are. Galle town is further away. A tuk tuk or taxi is needed each night to go down to where the restaurants are. 1500 rupees one way in a tuk tuk. No beach as such, just a small jetty with sand and a pontoon which is on the river.

Absolutely beautiful property and rooms with every attention to detail. What made this stay particularly special was the manager Ajith and his staff. he was so professional, helpful and attentive with anything that we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Nothing, perfect stay

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is just a short tuktuk ride away from the fort and main attractions. The hotel team, especially Ranjan took care of my husband and I from before we reached the hotel until we left. They have great attention to detail and are very adaptable. You really feel the warmth of the staff from the minute you walk in. You can spend hours enjoying the views from the hotel. We loved all the seating areas around the hotel. The chef always cooked delish food and breakfast is perfect as it has variety. The room is huge and comfortable, we luckily were upgraded and got the room with the jacuzzi, highly reccomend getting this room. I would stay here again if I were to visit Galle and will look into other postcard locations. Thank you so much for an incredible stay

Exceeded all exceptions. VERY peaceful. Staff always kind and helpful. Actually went beyond any expectations. Room was spacious and lovely. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a beautiful cake in our room.

Beautiful, peaceful, clean property - homely feel and polite staff. No check-in/check out times and no set meal times set it apart from other hotels and make the stay truly relaxing.

The hotel organised a taxi with their regular driver Madu to take us to Galle Fort (one way 5 minute drive) - I asked the rate in advance from the hotel manager and was told it’s not much as he is a regular driver. The driver charged us Rs.4000 at the end of this 5 minute journey which was more than the 45 min taxi journey from Colombo BIA airport to Colombo city centre. What’s more we had to wait 25 minutes for this car to arrive. An Uber would have cost Rs 1200. While tourists can afford this and I would not argue over it, it is insulting that the driver took us for fools and the hotel recommended this driver. Disappointing end to this stay.

Lovely small hotel very near to Galle Fort. Spacious and clean rooms and super helpful and pleasant staff who helped organize everything we wanted. Food and atmosphere worth to mention as well. Perfect place to stay if you want to have quiet and calm place to relax.
