The Swan Hotel and Spa

Appeared to have been recently painted/decorated and was immaculate. Excellent location for walking into town. Plenty of cooking equipment if you plan to cook at home.

Second bedroom was a bit tight to move around in, but not a problem for us as there was only the 2 of us.

The property was beautiful and the setting even more so. The suite was amazing and fully lived up to expectations. Very comfortable, lovely colour scheme and breakfast service to the room was swift and on time.

The hotel side there were no issues. However, the spa needs some attention to management of usage, when we arrived the pool was too full to get into. Despite the beds having no people there were non free as robes and towels were strewn everywhere. There were clearly not enough hangers for robes and whilst it should go without saying no signs encouraging use only when needed. There were also no bins for the empty cups and so there were plastic cups everywhere, whist the staff did regular sweeps a bin here or there wouldn’t go a miss. Overcrowding could be managed better. Bad attitude of individuals (can’t be helped by the hotel) were the contributors to our disappointment. The facility itself was lovely beyond the robes and cups and I would go back again but will definitely enquire after a quieter slot.

The staff were lovely, and really friendly. Rooms were spacious. Evening meal in the pub was lovely.

The breakfast wasn’t great. The spa wasn’t great either. The rooms were spacious but in need of updates.
