The beds were comfy, the stand-in hosts were very helpful with good suggestions for dinner and local visits, and the fresh berries, yoghurt and granola for breakfast were excellent.

Professionalism with personal touch! We were greeted with two little bottles of complimentary prosecco. The room and the bathroom are set up with attention to details at the finest level and are spotlessly clean. We found the bed made when we returned to the room - a service we could only expect from a hotel not a B&B. The pièce de résistance is the delicious breakfast with the kind of standards that could topped those offered by top-rated hotels or restaurants. We were presented with a breakfast menu with various mouth-watering choices instead of just a big fry-up. Overall we were very happy staying at the Red Cottage. We went to Rye for the Jazz Festival and everywhere else was fully booked. We were lucky to have found this gem!

Big thanks to Gill and Bryan for being such wonderful hosts and making sure my stay was super comfortable :) Stayed in Red Cottage for 2 nights in June'22 - it was a random get-away trip from London. I arrived by train, and the cottage was an easy 5-minute walk from the Rye Station (Easy navigation through maps). The cottage is tucked away towards the end of a small street, so it's a very quiet and peaceful locality with lots of greenery around. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures - super cozy and the bed was so comfy I could have slept through the entire day! It seemed like the room was refurbished recently - which gave it a very modern vibe in a cottage that was otherwise very traditional. So, you get the best of both worlds. The room and the attached bathroom were both spotlessly clean and really well maintained. Loved the amenities and extras provided in the bathroom. Rye is a very small town, so the entire town can be covered, by walk, from Red Cottage. Bryan helped me with a map of the town and shared recommendations on popular sights and restaurants - which was super helpful. Their breakfast is something which is not to be missed - cooked home-style with super fresh ingredients and can be customized as per your requirements.

We were looking for somewhere to stay on a last minute visit of Rye. Everything was perfect. Communication when booking. Place to park car. Warm welcome from Gill. Room was delightful. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Superb breakfast. 5 minute walk to centre of Rye. Would highly recommend.

Everything was great!

Just wow. Our stay here was so comfortable and perfect. Gill and Brian were lovely hosts, had recommendations for us and generally went out of their way to look after us. The attention to detail in the very large room was second to none, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the surroundings very green and peaceful. Only a couple of minutes walk from the train station and very close to the town centre. The breakfast included was delicious too. I would only want to stay here if I came to Rye again. 10 out of 10
