The Apple Inn

Very pleasant stay. Excellent food. Superbly dog friendly.

The only thing was we couldn’t get an early (ie 5/6pm) dinner booking on the Sunday as there was a singer, So we had a take away from the inn in our hut - not a huge problem at all!

The D'Arcy Suite was spacious and very comfortable. Nice big bed, good size shower and lovely towels. Well stocked tea tray, plenty storage. Friendly efficient staff, wonderful quality breakfast. Amazing value.

Really nice friendly staff and a very comfortable room. Superb breakfast too.

Would have liked a bath in the room. Vertical blinds and no curtains was also a bit strange in a bedroom.

The cooked food at breakfast was good. The staff at breakfast were enthusiastic. The room had a designer aesthetic and was of a good size, high ceilings and with a nice shower. The location was quiet and reasonably close to local attractions.

The room, although attractive, had not been designed from a practical perspective. There was no hanging space at all and no suitcase rest. Unfortunately, upon arrival, it appeared that the room had not been properly checked because it contained 3 very large wasps/hornets which we had to catch and take outside. Fortunately, they were quite dozy. We raised this as a concern with the reception staff because it was so unusual that we thought there was a nest nearby and that we would have more 'visitors'. We were told that maintenance would check this but there was no indication that anything was done subsequently and no confirmation it had been checked. There did not appear to be anywhere for washbags in the shower room, but we discovered a hidden drawer under the sink upon leaving. There were no curtains, only blinds and other guests could look in to the room from the exterior - which we noticed when having breakfast.
