Holiday Inn Farnborough by IHG

The location was great for us to get about from. Easy check in and out. Good car parking. Has been recently refurbished in lots of areas.

The mattress was very firm and the pillows were lumpy!

The location was great for us and easy to find. Parking was free, which is a bonus. The greeting at reception was friendly, helpful and polite. Our room was huge, as was the bathroom. It had plenty of storage space and the double and sofa bed were both comfortable. There was a small window which overlooked the air conditioning vents but we were pleasantly surprised not to be able to hear any of the road traffic noise. However the floorboards above creak and I mean creak. I know it's an old building but this could easily be rectified and did cause a disturbance whenever the occupants above moved. I mentioned this at check out and it was apologised for and a different part of the hotel suggested if we stay again. This was followed up by an email later that day from the receptionist, again suggesting another room and offering further help with future bookings. This was an impressive touch and very much appreciated. We ate in the restaurant, as I'd booked the DBB deal, which is certainly good value for money. The food was all delicious and the service, especially our waitress Seya, was fantastic. We will stay again for sure.

The creaking ceiling.

We had a pleasant family stay with our children aged 6 and 8. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious.

Please do not allocate Room no 229 to families with young children until the bathroom safety issue is fixed. There is a metal piece fixed to the floor near the shower area that caused my son to hurt his toe. The bathroom also has poor ventilation. This could be a serious hazard for children. We reported the incident to reception at checkout.
