The Longboat Inn

Some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered - professional and quick service, but made us feel like friends from the first contact. The building retains its historical charm, including some long corridors to get to some rooms, but includes all the facilities you want. The view from the stairwell landing is stunning. The bed was comfortable and there was no noise from other rooms or from outside. The restaurant was amazing - excellent service, local ingredients beautifully cooked and presented, and we weren't rushed when we took our time finishing the large portions. Perfect for the station, which was why we'd chosen it, but we'd happily have stayed longer.

Room was far too hot, very tired old decor

The hotel is ideally located for the Scillonian ferry across to the Isles of Scilly. Very near to the railway station, local buses, restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. Clean, comfortable and convenient accommodation. There is a pub and restaurant at the hotel which serves good food and drink at reasonable prices. It can get busy, so it's good to book a table for breakfast and evening meals. Recommended.
