Close to hydro and had exactly what we needed

Expensive due to location,get away with it because of this but bathroom grubby and place in need of a good clean , refurb.

Friendly staff and smooth process for check-in and check-out. Excellent location to the Armadillo and conference facilities.

The room wasn't clean, and we found crisp packets and bottles of soft drinks hidden behind radiators and under the bed. I had a ripped duvet cover, which was surprising. The cost was out of proportion to facilities, and the quality of accommodation was poor. We felt like we had been put in a basement family unit. The building fabrication needs updating. It was the Easter weekend, though, and we had to be there for an event.

Staff friendly and obliging. Convenient location for SECC, local shopping nearby and train station to centre of Glasgow. No traffic noise issues despite being in busy area. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice, good value provided.

Rooms basic with only one upright chair but clean surfaces and bedding. One of our rooms had malfunctioning window with mould round frame and windowsill. But desk staff willing to try and resolve any issues reported.

There were no pillowcases on one of the beds, plus you look forward to a full Scottish breakfast and find out no black pudding or haggis ant more 😀..

Breakfast was good, the room was already set up for a family Room was on the 4th floor although we were told we could have a ground /1st floor even with an email we were told none were available and we were sent to the 4th floor.

The breakfast was a bit of a letdown on 1st day but on the Sunday was much better with the buffet breakfast staff very helpful and friendly

Having items on the menu available a very small menu but lots were not available I know it was a busy weekend but hotel should have planned for it as events were on n the hotel must have known by the bookings.but that said would stay again

The location was handy for concert venue

The room and bathroom were filthy. The walls were all dirty and there was mould in bathroom. I booked a triple room (1 Double, 1 Single) what we got was one double bed and a wonky fold out. We had to make both beds as the sheets hadn’t been made up. The carpet needed a vacuum and the very least. Walls need cleaned. The breakfast was shocking (we had the full breakfast). The continental breakfast was a comical and not worth anyone’s time or money. The staff were pleasant enough.

The staff were brilliant - they did everything to try to remedy the issues and were very responsive and helpful. The location was perfect for attending the OVO.

This is genuinely the first bad review I have left about a hotel, I don't make a habit of it, but this really earned it. We booked for 3 adults however the first room we were given was tiny - all 3 of us couldn't move around in there without taking it in turns to walk through the tiny gap between beds. There were only 2 plugs. Worst of all the beds were not properly made so we could see the very stained mattresses. We spoke to the night manager who was *extremely* helpful - he gave us another room and free breakfasts (thank you!). The new room was a big improvement but unfortunately the following issues still made it a very poor stay: a) the room was freezing and even with the heater on, the strong draught from the window (it was as if the window was open) meant it was still cold and the noise from the club next door kept us awake b) the shower/bath was dirty/mouldy and ran onto the floor due to a leak meaning we had to use towels to soak this up so we didnt slip c) the door didn't shut properly/door latch was broken d) someone drilling the wall next door e) no bathroom bin f) the cleaner doesn't clean the room unless requested at the desk which we weren't made aware of g) aircon didn't work h) general cleanliness of the hotel room was really poor. Finally, we waited over 20 minutes for our breakfast despite there only being 3 other tables occupied (which was tasty but we had to rush due to this). Again, none of the above is the fault of the staff who were all brilliant, but unfortunately we would not recommend staying here.

The room was filthy. I’ve never stayed in such a dirty hotel room in my life. Walls in the room were disgusting years of spillages over them. Need a good clean at minimum a paint wouldn’t go a miss. However the bathroom was the biggest issue. The shower head was black with mould and mildew! The shower area (tiled area) was covered in mould and Mildew The walls were covered in mould We couldn’t even use the shower it was so bad! The cleaners knock the door umpteen times before the check out time. Was supplied an email address from the lovely girl at reception to complain and send my photos to and I didn’t even get an acknowledgment! If I was able I’d attach all my photos but it doesn’t allow me to add more!

Close to the SECC Hydro

Small room, bathroom needs updated, tiles dirty as was the shower, damp with a mouldy smell. Breakfast not much better. Freezing cold plates with lukewarm food which then got cold even quicker. No utensils on table so had to wait again which resulted in more cold food! Poor choice and not replaced often enough.

It was a great location and perfect for where our show was! Cleanliness of the room was great and some staff were very friendly.

Had to wait over 40 mins for dinner to be ready, staff were unable to locate our table which was pre booked. Some staff were also dressed in casual clothing and on their mobile phones a lot which didn’t look very professional. When having breakfast there was no cutlery on the tables and no plates for food to be served on. One coffee machine and apple juice dispenser wasn’t working but there was no signage to alert customers of this. Again staff were on their personal mobile phones a lot during this time and not paying attention to the customers.

Great location for our visit to the Hydro. Room was clean and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. Full English Breakfast was lovely, and very reasonably priced too with plenty additional items to choose from, cereals, toast, croissants, jams, yogurts and fresh fruit. We will definately book again for our overnite trips to Glasgow.

Not much to not like, only small thing was there were no drinking glasses in the bathroom if you need some water, you have to use the coffee cups.

We sat in bar after our event and put a lot of money over the bar, close on £800 and we were rushed out the bar at 12:00. Absolutely outrageous. Staff were unfriendly and rude.

Breakfast was OK. Not very well set up though. Not enough mugs, bowls etc ready to use.

Cleanliness particularly in bathrooms. The floor had definitely not been cleaned properly and we had to request a room change. The second bathroom toilet also could have been cleaner!!

I booked the hotel for colleagues attending a conference as it was included in the recommended list. Although the photographs of the outside of the hotel didn't look at all promising it was convenient for the SECC so, against my better judgement, I booked 4 rooms. From what I heard from my colleagues the hotel was appalling in every way. I am embarrassed that they had to stay there for two nights and also appalled that this could ever be recommended by local conference organisers. Do not consider this hotel for even a heartbeat.

Not enough staff to cope and handle the amount of customers in the dining area. Some people were waiting too long for food and 2 people were trying to multi task being at the bar serving drinks and serving food and helping out in the reception area. If there was even more people staying then they would not have coped and subsequently there would have been more frustrated and annoyed customers.1 young guy had only just started that night so a girl was training him and running round trying to do everything. She was doing a marvellous job catering for eveybodys needs but I could see that more staff would help the guys that were running around would help take the pressure off them.
